Carol M. Bechtel Carol has served as the Executive Director of the American Waldensian Society since 2019. She is also Professor of Old Testament at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. Carol is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Reformed Church in America.

Staff

Sheila G. Young (Office Administrator) resides in Valdese, North Carolina, and handles the Society’s day-to-day operations. Sheila was raised Roman Catholic; today she is a humanist.

Duncan Hanson manages AWS publications and for many years worked for the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Reformed Church in America to deepen ecumenical and interfaith relationships.
